Prakash Raj, perfectly cast once again in Guntur Kaaram, delivers a commendable performance as both the minister and Mahesh Babu’s grandfather. Their face off in Guntur Kaaram has to be the least entertaining with the latter’s one note character being predictable.
The film is peppered with moments designed to incite cries of ‘Jai Babu’ from fans of Mahesh Babu. The movie is trying to display a very special bond that exists between a mother and a son but they have absolutely failed to do so.
As a family drama, there are glimpses of what it could have been. As a rugged and brash youngster, he delivers a great performance. His comedy timing makes ‘Guntur Kaaram’ more palatable.
Overall, Guntur Kaaram, released in January 2024, received negative reviews from critics, including some who were disappointed with the film.
